Freewheelers "Skagit" Wool Tweed Jacket (Grained Olive)
Vintage classic!
Freewheelers has taken inspiration from the iconic Type A-1 Flight Jacket worn by fighter pilots during the 1920s, to create this amazing "Skagit" jacket! The name "Skagit" is inspired by the river of the same name that runs from British Columbia in Canada to Washington in the United States and is renowned as an excellent fishing spot. Originally constructed with leather, Freewheelers have remade the design using their specially developed tweed made from British wool!
The shell of this jacket is constructed with Freewheelers' specially developed wool tweed fabric, using 100% long-fibre British wool. Slowly and tightly woven using vintage machines, this fabric has an incredible three-dimensional texture. This fabric has been yarn-dyed with various brown and green hues, to create the tasteful, grained olive colourway! The lining is constructed with 71% cotton and 29% wool blended Japanese lightweight mixed twill. Another specially-developed fabric by Freewheelers, this lining provides some next-insulation to keep you warm and toasty during the colder months!
Speaking of details this jacket features, 100% wool ribbing fabric on the collar, sleeves and waist to be comfortable and protected from the wind! Extra-large polished nut buttons add some tasteful contrast to the olive colourway! The signature A-1 style waist pockets provide plenty of storage for your daily needs!
If you are looking for a classic A-1-inspired winter jacket, Freewheelers is the ultimate choice!
