An EAST meets WEST combo!

OAX have connected western culture with Japanese culture yet again! This open-collar 'aloha' style shirt is made with B.N.D.S (Brand New Deadstock) vintage Kimono fabrics sourced from local Japanese farming families.

For those who don't know, OAX focus on remaking garments with rare vintage fabrics. These shirts are made of 100% silk-printed Kimono garments from Japan. Each batch is sourced from leftover fabric saved by the local family and sold in extremely limited quantities so there is only enough to make one pattern in each size. Due to the limited amount of each pattern, the luxury silk fabric can be sold at a similar price to cotton!

For a casual look, the collar features an open design with a hidden button if you prefer to fasten it up completely. To add some tasteful contrast, OAX has used polished shell buttons that have a beautiful natural sheen.

For those who don't know, OAX focus on remaking garments with rare vintage fabrics. These shirts are made of vintage indigo discharged printed Yukata garments from Japan, Traditionally used in Japanese ceremonies. Each panel of the shirt is made up of various Yukata fabrics to create an interesting combo pattern. With time, the grand indigo-dyed fabrics will slowly fade to a softer contrasted look and reveal more shade shades of indigo.

For a casual look, the collar features an open design with a hidden button if you prefer to fasten it up completely. To add some tasteful contrast, OAX has used polished urea buttons that have a natural sheen.

The soul of vintage type-2 reborn!

This season we would like to introduce you to SDA's special project 'MARU SANKAKU PEKE' aka OAX.

This jacket uses a combination of vintage fabrics and SDA's own specially developed denim fabric to create a truly unique garment!

The 'diamond-like' patchwork pattern on the yoke and sleeves has been skilfully hand-cut and sewn using Japanese indigo-dyed fabric from a variety of vintage denim. Each pattern will be slightly different to the next resulting in a jacket with some truly unique vintage soul! For the rest of the jacket body, SDA has chosen a sky-blue, vintage indigo, 13oz orange colour selvedge ID denim. Unlike many other brands producing pre-distressed denim, SDA has skilfully controlled the ageing process to create a pre-faded denim jacket indistinguishable from vintage worn-in pieces!

The construction features a combination of single-needle and chain stitching for added durability while the unpolished iron doughnut buttons add to the vintage charm of this garment.

The design has been inspired by classic type 2 jackets worn by cowboys and workmen of the past. SDA have retained the short vertical length and comfortable chest dimensions to make up for a relaxed vintage fit!

The sashiko star shines out for a better future!

This season we would like to introduce you to SDA's special project 'MARU SANKAKU PEKE' a.k.a OAX.

This one takes inspiration from those most beautiful examples of boro repairs on vintage Japanese work coats. The rear side features a skilful example of the vintage repairing process. The 'diamond-like', star-shaped patchwork pattern has been skilfully hand-cut and sewn using Japanese indigo-dyed fabric from vintage sashiko. Each pattern will be slightly different to the next resulting in a unique, one of a kind look.

The collar also features some tastefully applied, vintage fabric accents that add tasteful contrast.

Woven using vintage machines, the indigo chambray fabric is super smooth to the touch and features man shades of indigo thanks to the thread dyed fibres. OAX have also applied a realistic 'USED' process which results in a mottled indigo hue.

Constructed with chain stitched side gussets and classic, rounded symmetrical chest pockets, this is a durable yet tasteful choice for a semi-casual vibe. The polished nut buttons add a vintage charm and will develop more detail as they oxidise.
