Studio D'Artisan "Amami Dorozome" Mud Dyed Western Shirt
The beauty of traditional Japanese mud-dyeing with Western styling!
SDA's latest offering showcases the amazing mud dyeing techniques originating from the Amami-Oshima islands north of Okinawa. This ancient dyeing process called "dorozome" dates back over 1000 years, using the unique dye properties of the mud and trees native to the small islands! This process, performed by highly skilled Japanese craftsmen, results in a garment-dyed fabric that is truly unique! The cotton fabric has been slowly woven using vintage machines to produce a subtly irregular texture. With time the deep earthy brown colour will age to a soulful look!
This shirt features classic Western shirt styling, with black stone snap buttons on the placket and sleeves, twin shirt pockets and the characteristic Western shirt panel design on the chest and back yoke! Chain stitching has been used throughout for enhanced durability so you can enjoy the beauty of ageing for many years to come!
If you are looking for a classic Western shirt that combines expert craftsmanship and ancient Japanese dyeing techniques, then this is the shirt for you!
