You may have so much fun to enjoy the ageing of the tan colorway of The Flat Head "Silver Hook" Single Cuff~ The left one is brand new one VS one year used one. The vegetable tanned cowhide turns to be some dark brown and the silver hook becomes more shinny, yeah sir, this is a beautiful contrast !
Stevenson Overall "Deputy" Ranch Jacket (Olive) One Year In Use
For those who have been eagerly awaiting to see what the SOC Olive Deputy Ranch jacket ages like, we now have a very cool example to show you. This jacket has been worn by one of our Sydney customers for 1 year and has seen much daily use and has yet to be washed!
As you can see the moleskin fabric has really aged to a beautiful vintage look. The high contrast areas around the pockets and sleeve stacks look quite rusty and dense with colour! The olive overdye is wearing in nicely and is showing some soft but strong highlights of light olive. Initially the moleskin fabric is in a very tight, tense state. After wear it is now visible that the fabric has released this stress and has a slightly puffy texture on the surface.
The corduroy accents have become softer and have strong contrast in areas of wear such as the rolled up cuff and sides of the collar. The suede piping is starting to become a slightly lighter shade thanks to regular wear! The black coat on the closure buttons is slowly wearing away in places and looks very unique! The oxidised waist adjusters are really starting to show a nice sheen and contrast nicely with the rich moleskin olive fabric.
This jacket has aged quite like vintage clothing and looks as if it belongs in a vintage photograph from the past. We look forward to seeing how this jacket continues to evolve with ongoing wear and will be sure to update you again in the future!

First Arrows Large Arrow Bungle after 2 years in use
Here is a great example of how beautifully this silver and 18K gold bungle from the First Arrows ages!
This bungle was inspired by the Native Indians who strongly believed that Silver and Gold will last forever. They made their best artworks using these two very special materials. Like these Native Indians, First Arrows skilfully craft their pieces using the very best, super dense silver and gold. They actually have their own special silver which is 95% silver and 5% classified metals. This creates a very unique and significant ageing appearance. You can see results of on this aged example. Some areas are beginning to become darker and are starting to appear like rich mahogany. Also you can see some really interesting colour changes around the gold seal! A pink hue is beginning to appear and really gives character to the hand detailed feather fibres.
These bungles are very carefully hand constructed by some of Japan’s most skilled artisans. These details can only be done by hand! The engraved pattern on the smooth edge has become darker and is now very vibrant. This is thanks to the characteristics of the craftsmanship and the special silver mixture.
If you are looking for a beautifully artistic accessory or if you just really love silver and gold, then this is the bungle for you!
Stevenson Overall Co. X Corlection Type 1 Duck jacket after 2.5 years
Initially this jacket was super dark and had minimal texture on the surface. This is due to the hank dyed duck indigo fabric! This dying process makes the surface of the texture very subtle but very rich in colour. After wears and washes you can really see that the beauty of the 13oz duck fabric’s texture is now being revealed! This fabric has also softened significantly and now has the feeling of soft shirting fabric.
In key areas of wear such as the chest pocket and and the front button closure you can see the tiny but brightly coloured highlights appearing. This is from opening and closing of buttons. The waist band of the jacket is really showing of the beauty of the hank dyed fabric, with the edges looking like tree roots. The silver coated buttons are ageing along nicely with the copper base now appearing in places where the silver has rubbed off. The specially placed, hand hammered and cut rivets are becoming shinier. This is evidence of truly unique craftsmanship. On the buttons you can see the nicely aged leather washers placed between the fabric and the rivet. They have keep the fabric intact and prevented damage. They have also developed interesting furry edges. The cinch back closure, inspired by vintage ranch wear is used to adjust the waist to ensure a perfect fit. This has really aged beautifully thanks to adjustments and daily wear.
To make the ageing even more unique and personal our staff placed one of our new Lewis Leathers badge onto the chest pocket. We think that this compliments the aged materials perfectly!
This jacket still has plenty of life left in it and will continue to age beautifully and become more personalised. We will keep you updated in some time to show off how this jacket has progressed.
The Flat Head Silver Hook Cuff Natural Tan after 1/2 Year in use
Here is a nice example of the how beautifully these silver hook cuffs from The Flat Head age!
This piece has been worn for half a year by our Sydney Staff. The ageing process of these cuffs takes time but this example is already starting to show some really cool characteristics.
The silver hook has oxidised and is starting to gain strong contrast, becoming shinier in the exposed areas and darker in the crevices, also making the ‘TFH’ engraving become more visible. The natural tan leather band has formed a really interesting texture. It is smooth in some places and rough in others, this is due to daily 'wear n tear' such as bumps and scratches.
This cuff can be styled with the silver hook resting on the top of your wrist for the classic ‘Flat Head’ look! Otherwise for a more minimal and subtle style, you can wear the cuff with the silver hook hanging beneath your wrist.
If you like gradual ageing with the beauty of leather and silver in the same piece, then this is definitely for you!

Studio D'Artisan SD-106 Denim 4 months in use
Here we have some freshly aged Studio D’Artisan SD-106 jeans!
When it comes to SDA sometimes people seem to forget about their relevance and can sometimes be thought of as an 'underdog' or in this case the ‘underpig’. SDA have been around since 1979 and have been creating quality Japanese denim for nearly 40 Years! They are one of the original 'Osaka 5’ denim manufacturers who were one of the few pioneers of quality denim in Japan.
The SD-106 is similar to the SD-107 but have a lower rise and are a slim straight fit. These have been worn by our Sydney staff for 4 months, 4-5 days a week and have been washed twice. Thanks to SDA’s super rich, almost ink black indigo dyed fabric they are already starting to show beautiful ageing characteristics. The smooth Zimbabwe cotton denim fabric prevents stress during wear and creates a very comfortable wearing experience.
On the front side you can see underneath the pockets ‘lightning strikes’ are sighting to appear from walking and pocket usage. Also the ‘Cat’s whiskers’ are developing and showing places where the indigo has worn and the brighter shade from underneath is coming through. Since our staff always help our customers with their boot fittings and lacing you can see the front knee section has been worn the most. Beautiful light indigo spots are appearing on the knee and again some subtle ‘lightning strikes’ surrounding.
Now to the back side! You can see that the back pockets and surroundings are fading dramatically more then anywhere else. The back yoke and felled seam is starting to show many spots of lighter indigo and character. The belt loops are also showing lighter indigo in the middle thanks to SDA's special roped construction. The back pockets are starting to show beautiful light indigo highlights on each corner and where the hidden rivets are sitting. Underneath the pockets you can see some very cool long ‘lighting strike’ fades that point down to the crouch, this is due to the denim smooth fabric. The deerskin patch has become darker and the printed design is starting to fade slightly. Down to the back of the leg you can see that the honey comb fades are established but are quite faint. They will slowly but surely become bigger and grow with more contrast.
The entire jean has been sewn together with 100% cotton thread that has been overdyed! You can see that in places such as the front and back pockets it is starting to age and become slightly lighter, similar to a vintage look. Gaining character that looks beautiful alongside the super rich indigo denim.
The Studio D’Artisan jeans age beautifully and are crafted by some of japan’s most skilled artisans. We highly recommend you give them a try if you are looking for some super unique fades!
