The Flat Head 14oz 5002 Denim (A Decade of Wear)
This well-loved pair of TFH 5002 denim belongs to our Melbourne store's manager -- Ray. He purchased this pair in our Sydney store a decade ago when he was still our super VIP customer(earlier than he became our Melbourne store manager).
.
In the first 2 years of wear, he wore this pair of denim once a week then he occasionally wear them in the summertime!
.
After a decade of wear, this TFH 5002 denim ages to sky-blue indigo and appear with strong vertical textured fades.
.
The Flat Head 5002 denim is a discontinued series in the TFH denim collection, just like some 'Good Old Days' will never come back for us again...
.
However, don't forget to save up the memories when that indigo falls...

Full Count X Corlection 2110 ‘Blue Mountain’ Limited Edition Denims 5 months in use
Earlier this year we introduced our limited edition collaboration denims with Full Count, a concept inspired by the Blue Mountains of NSW Australia. This is what discovering the ‘Indigo view’ looks like!
This pair have been worn 5 days per week for 5 months and have been machine washed 4 times! The 14.25OZ un-even, broken twill denim fabric has become seriously soft and is now showing the many shades of bright, vivid indigo! Even the internal pocket bags are showing some interesting character!
On the front side, the cat’s whiskers have a very unique, soft appearance, just like the horizon of the rugged Blue Mountains! Thanks to the broken twill weaving process, the outer fly piece and front pocket openings have a strong contrast with plenty of texture from the soft Zimbabwe cotton. You can also see the soft train track pattern appearing on the thigh area, quite a subtle yet detailed look!!
Now to the back! The seat is showing some strong vertical fading with a soft gradual change from light to dark! The pocket edges show some nice, vintage style highlights as well! For those who like soft honey combs, here’s one for you! The back leg has a nice contrast between vertical and horizontal texture!
Even after 5 months of wear the character of the denim is super prominent! We invite you to discover the ‘Indigo view’ for yourself!
The Flat Head 12 oz ‘Western’ denim shirt after 3 years in use
This particular shirt has been worn 1 day per week, 6 months per year for 3 years! As you can see the ageing from TFH is seriously beautiful! This is the perfect example for those who ask us “What’s the difference between the entry level and high end denim products you offer?”.
The answer is.. texture, It’s all about the texture! This is one of the most difficult characteristics of making quality denim products which takes years to develop. This is why some of the higher end brands cost almost double that of the entry level ones. The denim texture is as important as their own logo!!
When looking at this shirt you can see the super strong vertical texture that has appeared due to long time use. For those who know, you can tell straight away that this is from THE FLAT HEAD! The dyeing and weaving method for this denim is significantly more complicated than other brands which also means it takes much longer to age. Even after long time usage, the strong vintage appearance still has plenty of character yet to appear. Across both entry level and high end brands, the standard of construction is already at a very high, Japanese artisan level! But, from the roping effect on the hem to the copper base appearing through the silver coated snaps, these details have taken decades to master by TFH and years of use for the owner to fully appreciate!
When it comes to quality Japanese products, we stock the best in the world! Check out our stores and see for yourself!

Pure Blue Japan KS-013-WID jeans 6 months in use
When you wear your PBJ jeans you will get to experience the PBJ magic! We call this ‘Indigo-inception’!
The irregular weft in this fabric really does amaze us, look at them rain drops! The texture is so beautiful, the various alternating tones of light & dark indigo make up for a crazy vertical appearance!
Worn for 6 months and washed 4 times by one of our valued Melbourne customers, you can see the front whiskers and honey comb stacks coming through strong! This is thanks to the crazy contrast of light and dark toned indigo threads! We think that the black coated hardware balance out the many shades of indigo perfectly! But we ain’t finished yet, this pair still have plenty of life left in them and will only become better with time!
When we talk about the beauty of ageing, there aint no other like the pair you wear, these characteristics make em one of a kind. It's time to create your own PBJ magic!!
