This dyeing technique was imported from China 1000s years ago and it becomes a Japanese cultural heritage. Japanese craftsmen get the dyeing juice from persimmon and dye the clothing with it. For all the Kakishibu dyed garments, they can prevent mosquitoes
so that is why Kakishibu dyed garments are still very popular in Japan!

The 14.5oz red selvage ID denim is specially developed for this limited run. It is made of full-grain, long fibre cotton which has a 'mild slub' vertical texture and is thread dyed with grand indigo. With wear and wash, you will see the denim age to a high contrast ageing look.

Construction-wise, we used the medium weight, indigo sulphur dyed herringbone twill to create the inner pockets. The classic arc stitchings are made of Saxon Blue and Turquoise Blue cotton threads, which represents the 'Waves Of Indigo'.

We love the natural tan cowhide leather patch, as the graphic design is printed in indigo! With wear, you can expect the leather patch to turn to a darker brown and gain a special sheen. At the same time, the indigo print will fade away a little by little.

The hidden slogan "NO PAIN, NO GAIN" is stamped on the banner! For us, this comes to mind when we think deeply about our meaning in life. We think of life as a piggy bank... we should put 100% effort into what we do no matter how tough life can be! So don't forget... "NO PAIN, NO GAIN"!

Talking about the Japanese traditional indigo dyeing technique -- Kasuri Indigo Dye, it is some of the most beautiful indigo we have experienced! Today, we would like to introduce you to this ultra-heavyweight loopwheeled tee from Studio D'Artisan!

Thanks to being made on vintage loopwheel machines, the texture is so smooth and has a thick, substantial feel. This 8oz fabric is great for people with sensitive skin, it's heavier than normal loopwheeled tees but feels very light on the body!

The different shades of indigo are hand-dyed by skilful Japanese artisans, looking closely you can see the many levels of indigo dye applied to each thread that make up for a scattered vertical look.
