Studio D'Artisan 8oz 'Kusaki Zome' Denim Western Shirt (Khaki)
The perfect daily shirt for a unique look.
Famous in Japan for its vibrant and natural colour, Kusaki Zome is a traditional dying method using the persimmon fruit tree. SDA have taken this Japanese element and combined it with one of the most iconic western shirt designs for a fusion aesthetic.
Starting, the pure cotton fibres are slowly dyed using the Kusaki Zome method. Once dyed, the fibres and then woven into this denim using the vintage denim machine. The result is a soft colourway with a subtle gradient, just like perfectly ripened persimmon fruit. With wear and wash, you'll see some very soulful fading to a vintage, well-loved look.
In a true western shirt style, this one features white enamel snap buttons. The iconic 'longhorn' front and back yoke give off a strong shoulder appearance when worn. The symmetrical chest pockets are tastefully tapered to a point. The triple snap cuffs are perfect for styling to your exact liking.

Studio D'Artisan 12oz Indigo 'Kasuri Noragi' Sashiko Workshirt
After impressing us last season, SDA has done it again with their latest version of their 'Noragi' sashiko!
Hundreds of years ago, when most Japanese wore cotton-made kimonos every day, they were valuable heirlooms that you can leave to your children and grandchildren. To maintain the quality of cotton-made kimonos over time, the Japanese developed their repairing technique and that is how ‘Nogari Sashiko' started!
Talking about this indigo dyeing technique, SDA uses the Japanese traditional indigo dyeing technique -- Kasuri Indigo Dye, it is some of the most beautiful indigo we have experienced! The cotton yarns are thread-dyed with many different shades of indigo, with wear and wash, you will see they age beautifully to a more soulful look!
The polished nut buttons add a tasteful atmosphere which will also patina with use. The symmetrical chest pocket design is a classic look you can wear in any situation.
Last season, Noragi was a big favourite of our customers. If you love sashiko, this latest version is an even more amazing choice!

STUDIO D'ARTISAN 7.5OZ 'SUVIN GOLD' KIMONO STYLE LOOPWHEELED TEE
Inspired by tradition, made for the future!
Mimicking traditional Japanese methods of clothing construction when making Kimonos, SDA has fused the old and new world to bring us a truly novel garment. Specially developed by SDA, this Kimono style tee is a new way to make a raglan style without any cross stitching. This means the entire tee, including the sleeves, is made from two large pieces of fabric. No horizontal sleeve stitching under the armpits - one elegant swoop that wraps from the bottom of the shirt to the end of the sleeve! This makes for a super-smooth feeling from the arm and chest.
For those who don’t know, Suvin Gold cotton is one of the most expensive, quality cottons you can find. When you try it on and feel the fabric, you will understand why.
Thanks to being made on vintage loopwheel machines, the texture is so smooth and has a thick, substantial feel. This 7.5oz fabric is great for people with sensitive skin, its heavier than normal loopwheeled tees but feels very light on the body!
SDA has let the fabric speak for itself here, with a plain and minimal fabric perfectly accentuating the stylish elegance of the Kimono manufacture.

Studio D'Artisan Bend Cowhide Belt (Kakishibu)
Classic SDA workmanship with a zesty twist!
Constructed with a heavy belt buckle and screw-down rivet fastening, this is a serious piece built to last more than a lifetime. From the tapered tip, bevelled edges and teardrop eyelets, SDA have put their attention to the details to create a true Made in Japan standard belt.
To make for the most solid, hard-wearing leather strap, SDA has chosen to use Benz leather. It will maintain its shape very well with long-term usage, unlike other belts that will warp and become less aesthetically pleasing. The famous 'Kakishibu' dye is made from Persimmon fruit and creates a rich, dark brown tone with an orange hue. With time you'll see the inner core appear with a brighter colour, just like biting into a ripe persimmon!
