Inspired by Japanese beliefs, Mint Blue represents the virtuous and refreshing spirit of the beholder. Momotaro takes this concept to their denim to truly bring us something new!

For this pair, MOMO has created a very special run of their 15.7oz denim. Made using grand indigo and 'Mint Blue' coloured sulphur, the overall denin has an amazing vibrant colour. The strong contrast between the two colourways will only develop into a nicer look with time. With wear, you'll see some incredible, high-contrast fades with a strong vertical texture. Roll up the cuffs to see the beautiful 'Mint Blue' selvage id.

The classic 'Going to Batle' stripes have been colour match in a cool, mint blue ink. This adds some tasteful contrast and a subtle shift from the standard pure white GTB stripes. The cowhide leather patch has been vegetable tanned and will gradually develop and dark patina over time. Made from black sulphur-dyed warp and weft, this 15.7oz black denim has a super black appearance in brand-new condition. Most black denim only ages to a dull grey, However, these will age to a beautiful white creased look with high contrast.

The iconic Going To Battle Stripes have been applied in vegetable-tanned cowhide panels to add a third dimension to the look. With time you'll see some beautiful patina shine out and contrast against the denim. With a matching black overdyed cowhide leather patch and coated iron buttons at the fly, it's a beautiful tonal black style. For classic contrast, the front rivets are natural copper colour which will slowly oxidise to a vintage look.

This latest creation from Japanese denim masters Momotaro features their specially developed "Legacy Blue" denim fabric from their Copper Label. This 14.7oz signature denim features a slightly rougher and uneven texture just like a pair of OG mid-century Levi's thanks to the slow weaving process on vintage machines. For the weft, Momo has added a secret ingredient incorporating a silk and cotton blend for added softness and comfort. Thanks to the genuine-indigo dyeing method, these will age to a beautiful sky-blue look with time!

Speaking of details, this pair features a beautiful natural indigo-dyed cotton twill lining in the yoke for added durability and comfort! Aged copper buttons are used for a classic vintage vibe, with jacquard woven heavy-duty pocket bags, and an embossed 'peach-boy' cowhide patch.

Here we have a stunning Indigo x Black denim in a medium weight of 15.7oz. Momo has played with the warp and weft here, to great effect! Featuring a grand indigo-dyed warp yarn, for that rich indigo, and then sulphur-dyed weft yarn, to really achieve that deep dark colour. In brand-new condition, this denim appears jet black, however, with wear and washing you will start to see lighter indigo hues, more and more, as it ages to a beautiful high-contrast look! If you look closely on the seams and pocket edges you can see the blue just waiting to poke through! 

The black weft isn't the only neat detail here. These also feature hidden rivets, custom-engraved buttons, a natural indigo dyed deerskin leather patch, and Jacquard pocket lining. This jacket features a two-tone design with grand indigo-dyed warp yarns and black sulphur-dyed weft yarns. In brand-new condition, this jacket appears jet black, however, with wear and washing you will start to see lighter indigo hues, more and more, as it ages to a beautiful high-contrast look!

Construction-wise, this jacket features the classic type 2 details including twin chest pockets, vertical placket construction for ease of movement and waist button adjusters to ensure you get the perfect fit! This modified version includes two hands warmer pockets with heavyweight jacquard twill lining and a slightly longer vertical length for a more modern, fashionable silhouette! Behold - The holy grail of Japanese indigo denim!

We are often asked by our customers about the finest quality Japanese denim on the market. Finally, we can say without reservation - this is the best of the best! From the fabric to the construction and the amazing details, the Momotaro Ultimate Natural Indigo Denim is truly a work of art!

Many Japanese denim fans have seen youtube videos showing how Momotaro constructs their highest denim on traditional hand-operated wooden looms.

First of all, this denim is made of extra-long-staple, top-grade Zimbabwe cotton, which has been grown indoors and hand-picked. This cotton is renowned for its strength and softness with a hand feel similar to some finest silk!

Secondly, this denim is constructed by the first-generation GL9, a half-hand-operated vintage denim machine. Woven at a super slow rate, less than 1m of fabric can be produced per day, with a single pair of denim taking 5-7 days to create!

The natural indigo dyeing process is undertaken by Momotaro's best craftsmen combining using centuries-old traditional Japanese dyeing techniques. The cotton yarns are dyed 30 times with 100% natural indigo which can only be done 1 time per day before the process is repeated.

This traditional natural indigo hand-dyed technique will make sure this beautiful natural indigo will last over centuries that you can leave to your grandchildren or grand-grandchildren! With wear and wash, you will expect more shades of sky blue coming up little by little!

Speaking of details, this features a luxury-standard natural indigo-dyed Japanese silk lining on the yoke for extra strength and comfort! The pocket bags are constructed with the finest-grade zimbabwe cotton and woven on the GL9 loom. Going to the NEXT-LEVEL, Momotaro has chosen rivets and the top button made with 925 silver. The natural indigo sashiko patch is hand-woven for a more soulful look than typical machine-made sashiko. The beautiful hand-embroidered design depicts a magical gourd said to catch evil spirits and bring good luck and long life!

The classic is back!

When it comes to most OG workwear designs, the coverall may very well be it. Worn for generations of hard workers in the late 1940s,this design becomes famous for its strength and durability.

Brought to the Made in Japan standard, MOMO has utilised their extra comfortable, 12.5oz grand indigo dyed denim. This makes for a soft Coverall that can easily be worn on any occasion, unlike typical heavier-ounce versions. With ongoing use and wear you'll see some vintage-like soft contrast with more shades of indigo revealed.

By Japanese tradition, 2023 is "the Year of the Rabbit", let's celebrate the Year of the Rabbit with Momotaro!

These jeans are constructed with amazing specially developed 13.5oz denim, slowly woven using vintage machines. The cotton yarns are grand indigo thread-dyed to produce an ultra-dark indigo colour. With wear and washing these will age up to a high-contrast indigo look, with many light and dark shades shining through!

The real beauty, however, is in the details! For the yoke lining and pocket bags, Momotaro has chosen a special indigo-dyed cotton twill fabric, which has been screen printed with a custom design featuring the company logo symbols and rabbits. On the coin pocket, you can see a cute rabbit poking its head out, which has been skilfully discharge-printed on the denim. This pair features a horsehide hair patch that resembles white rabbit fur. Finally, Momotaro has remixed its signature GTB back pocket stripes, creating a discharge-printed camo pattern. If you look closely, you can spot some rabbits and peaches hiding in plain sight!

This new version is made using vintage weaving machines. This heavyweight herringbone twill flannel is made up of various coloured, yarn-dyed threads that are woven together to form the intricate herringbone pattern rather than using a cheaper printing method.Both sides have been double-brushed for maximum comfort and heat insulation!

Constructed with vintage triple stitching machines, this detail is a hallmark of real vintage-made flannel workshirts. The cream urea buttons add a tasteful contrast and complete the vintage aesthetic.
