To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star War series, Studio D'Artisan team up with Lucas Film to create this collaboration. The cool thing about this t-shirts is they not just go with some classic Star Wars graphics on it, SDA try to revive some true OG Star Wars merchandise tee. Here we have some freshly aged Studio D’Artisan SD-106 jeans!

When it comes to SDA sometimes people seem to forget about their relevance and can sometimes be thought of as an 'underdog' or in this case the ‘underpig’. SDA have been around since 1979 and have been creating quality Japanese denim for nearly 40 Years! They are one of the original 'Osaka 5’ denim manufacturers who were one of the few pioneers of quality denim in Japan.

The SD-106 is similar to the SD-107 but have a lower rise and are a slim straight fit. These have been worn by our Sydney staff for 4 months, 4-5 days a week and have been washed twice. Thanks to SDA’s super rich, almost ink black indigo dyed fabric they are already starting to show beautiful ageing characteristics. The smooth Zimbabwe cotton denim fabric prevents stress during wear and creates a very comfortable wearing experience.

On the front side you can see underneath the pockets ‘lightning strikes’ are sighting to appear from walking and pocket usage. Also the ‘Cat’s whiskers’ are developing and showing places where the indigo has worn and the brighter shade from underneath is coming through. Since our staff always help our customers with their boot fittings and lacing you can see the front knee section has been worn the most. Beautiful light indigo spots are appearing on the knee and again some subtle ‘lightning strikes’ surrounding.

Now to the back side! You can see that the back pockets and surroundings are fading dramatically more then anywhere else. The back yoke and felled seam is starting to show many spots of lighter indigo and character. The belt loops are also showing lighter indigo in the middle thanks to SDA's special roped construction. The back pockets are starting to show beautiful light indigo highlights on each corner and where the hidden rivets are sitting. Underneath the pockets you can see some very cool long ‘lighting strike’ fades that point down to the crouch, this is due to the denim smooth fabric. The deerskin patch has become darker and the printed design is starting to fade slightly. Down to the back of the leg you can see that the honey comb fades are established but are quite faint. They will slowly but surely become bigger and grow with more contrast.

The entire jean has been sewn together with 100% cotton thread that has been overdyed! You can see that in places such as the front and back pockets it is starting to age and become slightly lighter, similar to a vintage look. Gaining character that looks beautiful alongside the super rich indigo denim.

When we talk about denim jeans, first thing that comes to mind is "workwear". Most of you guys definitely know that denims used to be workwear only and then becomes fashion. But you might not know that jeans used to be a military wears as well in a very special time - Vietnam War.

In 1961, as the Cold War going on, US Navy form a new force for special operation especially against rising guerrilla warfare - Navy SEALs. Navy SEALs is one of the most elite special military forces in the world until today. Since SEALs is a force for special operation only, they were allowed to dress in civilian cloths. During Vietnam War, they likely to wear tiger camouflage tops with a pair of jeans, and thats the time that 5-pockets become a military wear.

We all know that Studio D'Artisan usually get some interesting limited edition denim once in a while. This time they looking into the history of Vietnam War and comes up with this pair of limited edition VW Model. Using a custom made 15oz blood color selvage denim, the indigo is even deeper compares with their classic 1XX fabric. You will also expect a strong vertical fade through time. Since it is inspired by Navy SEALs in Vietnam War, SDA put a heavy duty tiger camo twills linings on yoke and front inner pockets. You will also find that all the stitchings has been replaced with olive colours to make the jeans more military taste. Since it is a limited edition, the leather has been redesign with more VW details and imprinted on deer skin leather.

Introducing Orgueil - a new brand we bring in this season. The word "orgueil" is from french means "pride". Orgueil is a special line made by Studio D'Artisan focusing on revive the design from early 20th century. Pieces from Orgueil are full of beautiful vintage details and proudly crafted in Japan.

We bring in this beautiful trench coat from Orgueil. It is made of a 12.5oz nep denim fabric which blended with 88% of cotton and 12% linen. The fabric is in a beautiful vintage french blue color with a neppy texture which makes the ageing in the future super unique. The 12% linen makes the fabric much more breathable.

The design takes inspiration from a vintage french trench coat. You will find a lot of beautiful curving lines in it - like the big round collar & the drop shape side pockets. Not just designs, it also goes with some amazing vintage details. you will find that every buttons are made of coconut shells with some beautiful carving details.

Studio D'Artisan brings us a type of interesting denim shirt in the new season. The shirt goes with a 10oz selvage denim that slowly weaved from vintage loom. The fabric is quite interesting since it is silver grey on the weft. In brand new condition, you won't see the difference in color too much, but through time as the shirt ages, you will see it appear some silver grey shade.

It is quite a clean western shirt design with lemon color stitching. The details are quite amazing as well, all the mother pearl buttons are polished into a smooth and rounded shape.

These watch caps are very skin friendly as they are 100% cotton. Compared to other materials like wool, these cotton caps do not irritate or become itchy. They are also very breathable which allows them to be worn through many seasons. In humid conditions they will keep your head warm and dry. 

These watch caps are knitted on special vintage machines and the top of the caps are ribbed and the lower half is a waffle like texture. Hence the name 'watch cap', the embroidered anchor is a reference to the U.S Navy which is where this design originated from.

It is made of a heavyweight thermal fabric. The fabric goes with a strong waffle texture and has been grand indigo dyed. The waffle kniiting method gives an extra strength and stretch to fit. At the beginning of every year, Studio D'Artisan will release a model of limited edition denim to celebrate the new year. We are glad that we got a chance to bring in these X's-36C denim which limited to 260 pairs in the world. The denim is in a mid rise slim tapper fit. SDA company custom made these special 16.5oz green selvage denim for the model. Two different dye has been used in the fabric. The warp goes with a grand indigo dye and the weft is in an Indian inky indigo dye. Through using, the denim will appear a great contrast, not to mention that the mixing dye will make the aging so unique that you might never seen before.

Studio D'Artisan "1941" zippo in stock. These Zippo lighters are custom made under requirements of Studio D'Artisan company. They are limited to 300 pieces only. The lighter is a reproduction of 1941 flip-top style Zippo. The case is a 1941 style flat-plane case with a sharper edge. A 4-barrels hinge construction join the lid and bottoms instead of modern 5-barrels hinge. The inside unit is also a reproduction of 1941 style. SDA custom made the case with top grade cooper, and engraved the classic "Twin Pigs" logo on it. The cooper case will aged with some special sheen through your using. In Japan, people saw a pig on the street means good luck, hope this can bring you guys some luck as well.
