MOMOTARO JEANS 8oz “Tokuno Blue” Indigo Dyed Selvage Tailored Denim Trousers
"The New Standard Set For A Higher Standard!"
Tokuno Blue (特濃蓝) in Japanese means “Ultra-Dark Indigo.” To create this 8oz peach-colored selvedge denim, Momotaro used standard long-fibre Zimbabwe cotton for the warp (exterior) and extra-long-fibre, hand-picked Zimbabwe cotton for the weft (interior). The fabric is then slowly and tightly woven on vintage denim looms. This process gives the denim a smooth hand feel while revealing subtle, uneven textures beneath the surface. To achieve the remarkable depth of indigo known as Tokuno Blue, Momotaro dyed the yarn over 25 times—significantly more than most denim brands—resulting in an exceptionally rich and saturated indigo tone.
Design-wise, we love the selvedge denim waist adjusters and the additional bar-tack stitching on all pockets, which add extra durability. In terms of fit, it features a high rise with a loose tapered silhouette, inspired by tailored trousers from the early 20th century.
“More Texture. More Truth.” We Trust MOMOTARO!
