CORIGINAL 12.5oz Indigo Dyed "The Uprising" LOT.168 Denim (Modern Straight Fit)
"The Uprising!"
The concept of this pair of denim is from 1968 — “The Spirit of Change”. America was entering an era of cultural transformation. The rise of the Hippie movement and a new generation’s pursuit of freedom were reshaping American society, including fashion itself. During these years, Levi’s 501 was evolving from its traditional workwear roots towards a more modern silhouette. Yet, between 1967 and 1971, Levi’s was also approaching the end of what collectors would later recognise as the original Big E vintage era. America was changing. Denim was changing. Yet Levi’s continued to produce its jeans with traditional craftsmanship and authentic selvedge denim. The Last Years of an Era. The Beginning of Another.
Constructed with Japanese 12.5oz white selvedge denim, featuring a distinctive white selvedge ID that we call “White-Feather” Denim. Slowly woven on vintage denim shuttle looms, this fabric offers a smooth hand feel with a subtle, irregular vertical texture. The grand indigo colour is achieved through yarn-dyeing, and with regular wear and washing, the denim will gradually develop beautiful, high-contrast fades, revealing its unique character over time!
Design-wise, this pair features CORIGINAL copper "Fingerprint" buttons, crafted by a Japanese factory with a century-old heritage in bottle cap manufacturing, giving them a truly unique look. A brass Gripper Zipper zip adds an extra touch of vintage character, while the washable paper ticket patch pays homage to denim designs from the post-1967 era. And, of course, there are plenty of other hidden details waiting to be discovered by fellow denimheads!
