“Beat Navy! Go Army!”
This season, Warehouse have taken inspiration from the 1950s West Point Varsity jacket design, recognised as the “Army Version” the vintage archives, refining both the materials and construction to provide us with their own high-end interpretation of this classic piece!
The shell is crafted from Warehouse’s specially developed high-density melton wool, slowly woven on vintage machines to achieve a texture which is smooth to the touch. The wool has been yarn-dyed in sulphur black, ensuring this jacket will develop a rich, vintage look over time. Also included in this “Army Version” is a lightweight Japanese rayon/cotton blend lining, offering a silky-smooth feel against the skin.
In terms of design, this jacket features a ribbed collar, cuffs and hem, along with lambskin reinforcements at the front pockets to help maintain its shape over years of wear. The black-coated iron snap buttons will gradually chip over time, adding to their rugged character.
