“Drill — The Call of Textures!”
This 8oz “Drill” loopwheel knitting fabric is slowly woven on a 40s super-slow loopwheel machine, which can produce fewer than 10 T-shirts per day. The fabric has a strong vertical texture on the surface and a dry, smooth hand feel in its raw condition. After washing, the texture becomes even stronger — almost magically — resembling a dobby knit you may have never seen in other loopwheeled garments before! The color is thread-dyed, just like UG’s raw denim, and over time it will age beautifully into a high-contrast look.
Construction-wise, we love the double-folded, triple-stitched ribbed collar, which will hold its shape for years of wear. Due to the nature of the 40s super-slow loopwheel machine, larger sizes (such as size 42 and 44) require the fabric to be cut and re-sewn with a Union Special flat-seam-stitching machine to accommodate our BIG GUYS customers! This adds extra production cost — which UG chose not to charge — and that really surprises us again!
