Blacker than black!

This is an excellent choice for those who want a semi-casual style with amazing textures!

Utilising traditional dyeing techniques dating back over 1,000 years, SDA has created a true masterpiece with this one! Originating from the Kyoto Montsuki dyeing tradition, these techniques were used to dye garments worn by Buddhist priests and Samurai as formal attire. This dyeing method involves a slow and laborious process whereby base layers of red or indigo dye are applied before a natural black hand dye derived from betel nuts (Binroji) is applied multiple times. Each garment is hand-dyed by one of a small handful of highly skilled craftsmen, resulting in a super dark, ultimate-black colourway!

This blazer is constructed with SDA's specially developed 100% cotton 14oz sashiko fabric. Slowly woven under low tension on vintage machines, this fabric has an incredible 3-dimensional texture with a soft, comfortable feel! Thread-dyed using kurozome Kyoto Montsuki techniques, this fabric has an incredible, deep black look. With time, this fabric will age with an even more soulful patina as the raised surface fades and reveals more of the beautiful sashiko texture!

If you are looking for the ultimate black sashiko blazer, you can't beat SDA!
