This heavyweight “Elemental” flannel is specially developed by Samurai. Slowly woven on a powerful vintage machine, this production results in fabric boasting ultra-strong horizontal slubby textures whilst remaining smooth to the touch. The exterior is yarn-dyed in jet black pigment while the interior is dyed a light brown, creating a rich, inky black appearance inspired by traditional Japanese sumi-dyed textiles. Over time, the fabric will age beautifully, developing high-contrast fades reminiscent of Samurai’s signature raw denim.
Design-wise, the sleeves feature double-layered panels for added elbow protection. The gusseted side seams and chain-stitch run-offs complete the workwear look, while the hand-polished natural nut buttons add a subtle tonal contrast and will age gracefully over time.
