“Make It Rain!”
This heavyweight sashiko is low-tension woven using vintage dobby knitting machines at a painstakingly slow pace, resulting in a fabric with an incredible, irregular texture. The colours are kasuri yarn-dyed by hand, using a combination of natural and grand indigo dyes to create the beautiful multi-hued stripe pattern. In time with wear and washing, you can expect this to develop some high-contrast indigo fades!
Constructed with a lightweight cotton twill lining on the cuffs, collar, and placket, this shirt is built to a jacket-like standard. The gusseted side seams and chain-stitch run-offs complete the workwear look, while the indigo-dyed nut buttons add subtle tonal contrast and will age gracefully over time.
