The snake represents wisdom, determination, and charisma in the Old Chinese zodiac. To celebrate 2025 - the “Year of the Snake”, Samurai has released a limited edition of their best-selling 17oz heavyweight denim.
The 17oz denim has been slowly woven using vintage denim machines specially engineered to handle this heavyweight denim. This denim has a neppy surface and an incredible, irregular vertical texture! Thanks to the grand indigo yarn dyeing process repeated many times, you will see amazingly strong fades like the slash marks of a sharp samurai blade! The real magic is in the details, including a sakura-red and silver lamé selvedge I.D. that glimmers like the glint of a samurai blade about to strike!
Custom jacquard fabric pocket bags feature an indigo snakeskin pattern, which will reveal beautiful indigo fading with wear and washing. The fly uses heavy-duty iron buttons with Samurai’s custom “Rising Sun” graphic, and the top button is bright red enamel, symbolising blood drawn by the snake’s sharp fangs. The goatskin leather patch bears the 巳 character, representing the snake in Japan. Cuff the denim to reveal the signature "blood & silver" selvedge I.D.!
