To commemorate their 25th anniversary, Samurai has brought us this extra-special version of their best-selling Type II Denim jacket!
This jacket is constructed with 100% cotton which has been slowly woven on vintage machines to create highly textured denim! This denim features an extra slubby texture on the weft, making up for a unique fabric with plenty of character! Compared to the classic warp-only indigo dyeing, this jacket has been natural indigo hand-dyed on both the warp and weft! The natural indigo hand-dyeing process is based on an over a thousand-year-old tradition of skilful craftsmanship, which only a handful of artisans in Japan can finish perfectly, or we should say ---- MAGICALLY! Both the warp and weft have been hand-dyed 15-20 times. On top of this, Samurai's highly skilled craftsmen have chosen to use threads that have different concentrations of indigo applied to them. This gives the denim a subtle yet beautiful mottled indigo appearance! With time, this jacket will age very slowly, yet very differently compared with standard indigo dyeing, revealing many beautiful shades of natural indigo colour!
This jacket features many hidden details that are sure to put a smile on your face with an indigo/silver lamé selvedge I.D, and Samurai's signature "Iron Sunrise" buttons! Take a peak inside the pocket flaps and you will see Samurai have chosen a specially developed "asagi" indigo sashiko fabric for the lining!
