“Waves of Indigo!”
This 15oz silver-coloured selvage ID "Seigaha" denim is developed exclusively by Samurai for this limited-edition release. Slowly woven on vintage denim machines, it features a bold, irregular vertical texture. The warp yarns are rope-dyed with Genuine Indigo (a sky-blue-toned indigo), while the weft yarns are rope-dyed with Grand Indigo (a deep, dark-toned indigo). In its brand-new condition, the denim resembles a calm ocean under a clear sky. As it is worn and washed over time, it will reveal a wide spectrum of indigo shades, while the pronounced vertical texture becomes increasingly visible—much like the powerful waves of the ocean after a storm.
Design-wise, we love the hand-painted major button in “Sunrise Red”; the “Gripper Zipper” fly reminds us of the late ‘60s vintage Levi’s denim vibe, and the leather patch has a beautiful discharge print in an indigo tone that looks like traditional Japanese Ukiyo-e.
