This 14.5oz hoody is slowly woven on a vintage “open-end” knitting machine, giving the fabric an uneven, firm texture and a silky-smooth hand feel. The cotton yarns are first thread-dyed in deep indigo, and then skilled Japanese artisans use the traditional Japanese “Kakishibu” hand-dyeing technique (with dye sourced from persimmon juice) to dye the entire garment by hand. As a result, this hoodiey already has a brownish vintage vibe when brand new. With wear and washing, the indigo colour will fade just like Samurai’s raw denim, while the Kakishibu dye will age beautifully under sunlight, gradually developing a warmer tone.
Speaking of details, this sweatshirt features twin YKK zips, as well as comfortable ribbing fabric on the collar, cuffs and hem to maintain its shape over years of wear.
