“Young Buck, Old Indigo!”
Constructed with Samurai’s specially developed 10oz “Konako Ai-Madara” Sashiko fabric, this piece is slowly woven on a vintage Sashiko loom, giving the fabric its distinctive dotted “Konako (young deer)” texture. The weft is yarn-dyed in dark brown, inspired by the natural colour of deerskin, while the warp is rope-dyed with natural indigo and grand indigo, creating a beautifully mottled indigo appearance known as “Ai-Madara.” With wear and washing, the fabric will gradually develop a more contrasting and textured look, giving it a unique character and beautifully aged appearance over time.
Design-wise, we love the natural nut buttons and chain-stitching construction, making sure this work shirt will last for years of wear.
