“Signature Slubby!”
This 14oz XX series denim from Pure Blue Japan was considered the ‘Original Slub’ denim before the term ‘slubby’ was even coined! First developed in 1997, this proprietary denim from Pure Blue Japan continues to be slowly woven on vintage denim machine looms, resulting in a uniquely uneven dotty texture in new condition. The cotton warp thread is rope-dyed with grand indigo; with wear and wash, this denim will age nicely to a high-contrast look, exhibiting a short vertical texture emerging with mild dotted fades.
Design-wise, we love the vegetable-tanned deerskin leather patch, and the iconic Pure Blue Japan “Leaf” logo is embroidered on the left back pocket.
