“Sashiko in Pure Blue, We Trust!”
Inspired by the refined tailoring of early 1960s menswear, Pure Blue Japan presents a modern reinterpretation, a timeless, all-season tailored jacket crafted in Japanese traditional sashiko!
Constructed with PBJ’s specially developed 12oz “Wabash Type” sashiko, which is slowly woven from the vintage jacquard machine. This results in a smooth touch and uneven dotty textures. The grand indigo is thread-dyed, and with wear and wash, it will age nicely to a high-contrasted look, just as their raw denim!
Construction-wise, this jacket combines chain-stitching and binding techniques throughout the body, delivering a high-end, tailored finish. The standout D-RING style iron buttons, engraved with PBJ’s classic Leaf Logo, are crafted by skilled artisans at a traditional Japanese bottle cap factory—an impressive nod to heritage craftsmanship. Meanwhile, the cuff buttons are made from hand-polished, natural buffalo horn, adding a subtle touch of luxury to the overall design!
