Inspired by early 20th-century British wool tweed fabrics, Pure Blue Japan have developed their own "cotton tweed" version for your 'All-Seasons' daily wear, this time around in an “Indigo-Everything” version!
This flannel is constructed from Pure Blue Japan’s specially developed medium-weight “cotton tweed” fabric. To achieve a softness comparable to the finest cashmere, they’ve used high-grade, long-fibre cotton, slowly woven on vintage machines. The intricate check pattern is created using thread-dyed yarns, which are then hand-overdyed with Aizome indigo by Pure Blue Japan’s skilled artisans using traditional Japanese techniques. The resulting fabric possesses a unique appearance that will fade beautifully over time, gradually revealing more of the intricate pattern beneath.
Construction-wise, Pure Blue Japan have designed this for a minimalistic yet still classic workshirt appearance. This shirt features a single open chest pocket for a clean look, while the matte black urea buttons add some tasteful contrast! The lightweight cotton twill lining on the side-seam gussets, collar, and cuffs, combined with the chain-stitched construction will ensure this shirt remains durable for many years of wear.
