Taking inspiration from the vintage version of Levi’s 501XX 1947 denim (which was originally introduced in 1945), FW twists this classic design, making this denim even better than the original!
These jeans are crafted from FW’s proprietary 14oz 601XX orange-selvage ID, mild-slub denim. This denim is woven using cotton yarns of varying thicknesses, rope-dyed in multiple indigo tones, then slowly loomed on vintage denim machines to achieve its distinctive character. The resulting texture closely mirrors the feel and appearance of vintage Levi’s 501XX denim. With continued wear and washing, the denim develops high-contrast fades, evolving into a striking sky-blue patina.
Design-wise, we’re especially drawn to the light brown deerskin leather patch, featuring the fighting double buffalo logo and double-crossed arrows in place of the traditional “XX” — a clever and respectful nod to the classic. The fly buttons are silver-coated with yellow enamel detailing, and their ageing over time promises to be especially distinctive and visually compelling.
