BONCOURA 15oz '66 Black Denim (Narrow Straight Fit)

Size Guide

This feels like vintage denim never died in the 60s and became even better!

BONCOURA creates elegant designs with unmatched expertise in leveraging quality materials and resources from around the globe. Taking inspiration from the present and the past, they have created a new standard of quality menswear.

This '66 fit has a comfortably mid-high rise, roomy thigh and slightly tapered leg opening. Inspired by the 'Honourable age' of vintage Levi's denim (the final years of real vintage denim in the 1960s), these are creations as if real vintage denim never ended in the 60s.

Released initially as a limited-edition anniversary item, BONCOURA has reissued the '66 Black denim model as part of their standard line. For those who missed out the first time, now is your chance to get some of the highest quality Japanese denim one can find! Woven on vintage shuttle looms, the texture of the 15oz denim is smooth to touch, but subtly uneven due to the unique weaving method. The warp has been black Sumi-dyed to create a tasteful charcoal look! With time the denim will age to a contrasted monochrome look revealing the lighter undyed core of the yarns and weft!

Among Japanese denim brands, Boncoura is known for having some of the highest standards and an uncompromising approach to quality, which is reflected in their amazing details! The deerskin patch is made from ultra-thick, premium-grade hide normally reserved for deerskin shirts! The inner pockets are made from a specially-developed, shirting-grade HBT fabric which is silky smooth yet highly durable. These have been hand-printed using vintage typewriter machines for some added vintage flair! This pair has been chain-stitched using vintage machines to ensure the denim remains reliably durable for many years to come!

How We Measure

Pants and Shorts

Waist:

With the major buttoned up (i.e. the top button) open the jeans and lay them flat, like shown. Measure from the front where the major button closes to the back belt loop. Double this measurement to find the waist measurement.

The way we measure the waist is different from the 'Side to Side' technique. If you are used to the 'side to side' technique you can roughly roughly downsize by 1 inch.

For example, 'side to side' measurement for The Flat Head 3002 waist is 28inch and using our method measures at 29.25inch.

Front Rise:

With the jeans lying flat measure from the crotch bar tack to the top of the waistband.

Back Rise:

Spread out the crotch so the bar tack is visible, then measure from the crotch to the top of the waistband.

Thigh:

One inch down from the crotch, measure flat across to the other side.

Inseam:

Flatten the leg and measure along the inseam from the crotch to the leg hem.

Leg Openning:

Measure straight across the hem from side to side.

Tops

Shoulder:

Lay flat then measure from the shoulder's edge to the other shoulder's edge.

Chest:

Lay shirt flat and measure from pit to pit.

Sleeve length:

With the sleeve flat measure from the shoulder to the cuff.

Arm hole openning:

Measure from the shoulder down to the pitt.

Vertical length:

With the shirt facing down, Measure from below the collar to the bottom hem.
