When talking about the most iconic Japanese designs, it's impossible to ignore the Souvenir a.k.a Sukajan jacket. Since it first became famous during the post-WWII period when it was sold to American servicemen in Japan, the sukajan jacket has remained a timeless piece and the epitome of cool. This version from Samurai does not disappoint!

Inspired by traditional Japanese folklore symbolism, the skilful embroidery depicts some of the most iconic sukajan images with dragons, Mt. Fuji and Torii gates - all with Samurai's own twist! Embo embroidery is a whole different art altogether. The craftsmen at Samurai use tattoo-like, handheld vintage embroidery machines and 'paint' each jacket. The benefit of this is a more raised texture and intricate design, making up for a three-dimensional look!

The most crucial part is of course the outer shell! Samurai has specially developed their cotton/rayon fabric to maximise the best features of each, featuring the substantial heft and durability of cotton and the lustrous sheen of rayon! This fabric has been skilfully thread-dyed with grand indigo and then hand-dyed with natural indigo. In different lights, you can see various beautiful hues of indigo shining through!

The ribbed cuffs, collar and waist fabric have been specially created using knitting machines to result in the perfect fit and protect you from the wind!

If you've been wanting to try one of the most iconic designs that have risen from Japan, this is it. This is one of the highest levels of Sukajan jackets we've seen so far, no doubt!
