“Dive In Indigo. Everything’s RAGGY.”
This pair of denim takes its inspiration from vintage Levi’s denim from the late '60s. RAGGY CLOTHING puts its own twist on them, making a unique pair for you to enjoy!
Constructed from RAGGY CLOTHING’s specially developed 14oz red-selvage mild-nep denim, woven from a unique blend of American and Australian cottons, and slowly crafted on vintage shuttle looms. This results in a denim with a smooth hand feel and a subtle neppy texture. Thanks to the mixed-cotton composition, the denim carries a warm, light-beige undertone that sets it apart from conventional indigo denim. The warp yarns are rope-dyed in grand indigo, allowing the fabric to develop striking high-contrast fades over time. As it ages, distinctive "Lightning Strike" fade patterns emerge, reminiscent of well-preserved deadstock vintage denim.
Design-wise, we particularly love the chain-stitched run-offs at the waistband and the distinctive "Lightning Z" stitching featured along the outer edge of both back pockets. Look closely, and you'll notice that the pattern subtly forms the letter "R"—a nod to RAGGY CLOTHING itself. Both details draw inspiration from late-1960s "rush-hour production" vintage denim, when manufacturers often incorporated unique construction quirks to speed up production.
Now for one of our favourite details. At first glance, the main buttons appear to be made of iron, but they are actually crafted from brass and finished with a silver plating. Conversely, the rivets look like traditional copper rivets, yet they are in fact iron rivets coated with a yellow finish. This intentional contrast reflects RAGGY CLOTHING's attention to detail and appreciation for vintage manufacturing techniques. As the jeans age and see regular wear, both components will gradually reveal their true character.
