The striking embroidery - which has been executed flawlessly by hand by Samurai’s highly skilled artisans - depicts samurai skull and dragon motifs - all with Samurai's own twist! Sukajan embroidery is a whole different art altogether. The craftsmen at Samurai use tattoo-like, handheld vintage embroidery machines and 'paint' each jacket. This results in a raised texture and intricate design, making up for an incredible three-dimensional look!
For the outer shell, Samurai has specially developed their own heavyweight velveteen fabric made from 100% cotton. Slowly woven using antique machines, this fabric combines the luxury sheen and drape of velvet with the substantial heft and durability of cotton. This fabric has been skillfully thread-dyed mixed with sulphur by hand with natural indigo and will fade very slowly, revealing more deep ocean blue indigo tones!
The ribbed fabric on the cuffs, collar, and waist has been specially woven using vintage knitting machines to create the perfect fit and protect you from the wind! The interior features an ultra-soft black back satin fabric and light padding, making this one of the most comfortable jackets you can find!
