This heavyweight flannel design resulted from the 2023 April Truth flannel project, where Samurai appealed to the public for design submissions, with the winner being chosen after more than 500 votes! This colourway is inspired by the traditional dyes of Japan including indigo, persimmon, mud, and sumi ink. Like their famous denim, Samurai's heavyweight flannel shirts are just as durable and designed to age beautifully!
This heavyweight flannel is slowly woven using vintage knitting machines at a super slow pace, giving the fabric a subtle irregular texture. The colours are yarn-dyed with traditional Japanese dyeing techniques and will age to a soulful vintage look with wear and wash!
Construction-wise, this flannel features double fabric panel sections for elbow protection. Gusseted side seams and chain-stitch run-off complete the workwear look, while polished nut buttons add some subtle contrast and will age gracefully with time!
