“Aizome Drift!”
This 6oz jersey fabric is slowly knitted on a vintage "Air Spun" knitting machine, giving it a soft, fluffy feel against the skin. The cotton yarns are rope-dyed with Grand Indigo before the knitting process, creating a rich depth of colour. The border pattern is discharge-printed using the traditional Japanese "Bassen" technique, originally developed for dyeing kimono fabrics. This method removes the indigo dye while lightly re-dyeing only the surface of the fabric, creating a unique layered effect. With wear and regular washes, the fabric will age beautifully, developing a high-contrast look with plenty of soulful character.
