“Nippon Cotton — The Raw. The Finest!”
This 15.8oz silver-colored selvedge ID neppy denim is a newly developed fabric by Samurai. The warp uses American short-fibre Texas cotton, while the weft is made from Samurai’s self-farmed Musashi-type Japanese cotton. Slowly woven on a Toyoda GL3 vintage shuttle loom, the denim features a distinctive neppy surface with subtle horizontal texture, while remaining smooth on the inside. The grand indigo is thread-dyed, with wear and washing, it will age beautifully into a high-contrast fade.
Design-wise, we love the chain-stitch run-offs at the waist, which give the denim a subtle “Wartime” vibe. The use of Kinari selvedge fabric (which is made of Nippon Cotton as well) for the inner pockets further elevates the overall finish to a truly high-end standard.
