Crafted with Omoto Denim’s Signature 13.5oz Green Selvage ID Denim. This exceptional denim is woven using a custom-developed 13.5oz green selvage ID fabric, uniquely composed of 65% hand-picked long-staple Memphis cotton from the USA and 35% premium long-staple Zimbabwean cotton. The blend combines the soft, silky hand-feel reminiscent of 100% Zimbabwean cotton with the irregular, rugged texture often found in 100% American cotton denim—offering the best of both worlds! Woven slowly and meticulously on an extremely rare 1950s Sakamoto shuttle loom, this denim embodies the heritage of true vintage craftsmanship. The use of this vintage loom ensures a dense, character-rich fabric that modern machines simply can't replicate! To achieve Omoto's signature "Grand Indigo" tone, the yarns undergo a pure indigo rope-dyeing process repeated over 20 times. This intensive dyeing method creates a deep, rich indigo that will age beautifully, developing high-contrast fades and vibrant blue hues over time with wear.
Every detail has been designed with care: from the vegetable-tanned sheepskin leather patch and the distinctive white tab on the back pocket, to the soft-yet-durable herringbone twill inner pockets. Inside, a woven tag lets you record the start of your indigo journey—track the date you first wear them, along with every wash or soak. These small touches not only tell a story, they help you build one!
