Maru Sankaku Peke, SDA's diffusion line, brings us a charming piece with the 'Kung-fu Jacket'. Presented here in a lovely 'All-Seasons' Japanese 12oz herringbone Twill, in a soft navy-coloured thread dye, this piece is sure to provide a proper outerwear accent to any outfit!
Maru Sankaku Peke, being a line fascinated with reconstruction and re-wear in all its forms, has spared no expense when designing this piece. Sitting easily as a relaxed fit jacket, this MSP piece is neatly modified with the 'Pankou' clasps (also known as frog buttons) running down the front, and on the cuffs. The 'Pankou' clasp, dating as far back as the Tang dynasty, is a historical form of clasp that is found all across Asia.
The Kung-fu jacket is ripe for fading across the piece, with beautiful aging sure to happen quickly - the edging on the collar and latches is begging to be worn in!
Perfect as a light outerwear, or to layer, this piece is a balanced mix of understated easy-to-wear elegance and a bit of unusual charm; striking with its combination of Western and Chinese construction across the garment, but easy on the with its lightweight manufacture and soft colour palette.
