The rounded plate design is reminiscent of native Indian medallions and features a beautifully set, natural turquoise stone. The oval shape setting is elegant and shows off the natural veins and variations of colour. Turquoise stones give off a strong connection to nature and with time will gradually develop more sheen!
Firstly, Yoshihara Nao creates the base shape using their hand-hammered ‘chisel’ effect. This is a seriously slow and demanding process! This is an extremely delicate and complex process that yields a unique, three-dimensional 'plate' look.
