Take inspiration from early 20th-century Western cowboy belts, add a distinctive UG twist to the design, and transform it into the most elegant, highest-end version of a cowboy belt we have ever seen.
The shell of this belt is constructed using premium European horsehide leather, selected from the rear section of the horse for its superior density and character. It has been vegetable-tanned and expertly finished in Japan, resulting in a supple yet richly textured leather unlike anything we have seen before. The color is unevenly hand-dyed by skilled Japanese craftsmen, creating depth and individuality in every piece. Over time, a natural tan undertone will gradually emerge, and the leather will develop an increasingly refined sheen with wear.
To elevate the belt with a more luxurious feel, this horsebutt belt is also lined with silky-smooth, naturally tanned calfskin. This not only enhances its durability but also ensures that the lining ages beautifully alongside the horsebutt shell, developing character and richness over time.
From a design perspective, we especially appreciate the silver-coated iron buckle. The “Air Flow” pattern is meticulously hand-engraved by highly skilled Japanese artisans, giving the belt a distinctive “Cowboy Presence” — one that feels more like a piece of art than a simple accessory. The belt also features UG’s signature “U-shape” stitching near the buckle, carefully hand-stitched in Japan by master craftsmen, adding a refined and recognisable finishing touch.
