FILE 034:Momotaro X CORLECTION 15oz 0605CPB "Kill 'Em All" Black Denim -- 2 Years of Wear.

This pair of Momotaro X CORLECTION 15oz 0605CPB "Kill 'Em All" Black Denim was worn by our longtime Sydney VIP friend, Lake, who shares:
“To be honest, I was never a big fan of Momotaro. However, at that time, I was looking for a pair of black denim jeans as my artisan work uniform. When I came to CORLECTION, my ‘Buddy' Lee introduced me to this pair of 'All-Black-Everythang' collaboration denim, which really shocked my soul.
It did not feel like the Japanese denim I was used to seeing. I loved how subtle and minimal this pair of black denim felt. So, I kept wearing and working in this pair of denim for over two years. Even today, they are still one of my favourite pairs of black denim so far."

"I did wear them very often because of my work, about 3–5 days per week for two years. I also washed them more often than the usual denim I own — about once a week, mainly because of the environment in my work studio. During the first three months, the denim itself did not fade too much. However, I started to notice that the black over-dyed buttons and rivets began to reveal a brownish copper colour, and the centre of the belt loops started to develop a contrasted look."

"After the first six months of continuous wear and around 20 washes, this pair of black denim started to develop a more contrasted look. I was pretty surprised that this 15oz black denim did not fade into a greyish hue. Instead, it aged into a distinctive 'black and white' high-contrast look, as both the warp and weft cotton yarns were rope-dyed with sulphur black."

"After 12 months of wear, I noticed the reddish-brown core of the black teacore cowhide leather patch starting to emerge. The kanji engraved on the leather patch, "大殺四方 (Kill 'Em All)," became more visible as well. I started to appreciate the hidden vibe of this collaboration denim. The more I wore them, the more killer they became."

"Because I always kept my short wallet in the right back pocket, the discharge-printed GTB (Going To Battle) double stripes faded significantly and became much less visible. It's just like life, isn't it? When we are younger, we tend to be more aggressive and try hard to prove ourselves. As we become more mature, that passion is still there, but it is hidden deep inside our hearts."

"Because I washed my denim regularly over the two years of wear, the honeycomb fades on the back of the knees are not as strong as on some of my other denim. However, I do not regret it; I see it as the nature of my life."

"In another way, perhaps because I washed this pair of denim so often, the chain-stitched hem developed stronger roping fades than any other denim I have owned.
My buddy Lee once joked with me, saying, 'You know what? Sometimes, life's as wavy as selvage denim itself.' Lol~"
