FILE 032:The Flat Head Shell Cordovan Mid Wallet -- 10 Years of Use.

This The Flat Head Shell Cordovan Mid Wallet is owned by our Melbourne Store Manager -- Ray, who shares:

"I have a few wallets from The Flat Head, and this is one of my favourites. Back when I bought it, I knew the cost of raw cordovan leather was rising rapidly due to its growing popularity, so I decided to pick up another cordovan wallet from The Flat Head (This One). Looking back today, I'd say that was a pretty good decision—LOL!"

“In the old The Flat Head standard, cordovan does not equal horsebutt leather. Cordovan comes from the centre of the horsebutt, which is only about A4 size, making it perfect for a medium wallet. They selected only flawless raw cordovan with no scars or imperfections, then dyed it in this No.8 Whiskey colour for over four months to achieve perfection.”

"Then, after 10 years of use, you can see this cordovan become shinier, with some areas turning even darker. The most distinctive characteristic compared to other leathers is its mirror-like reflection when you stare at it, which is both elegant and beautiful."

"The most beautiful little detail on this wallet is the "Moon Surface Textured" silver ring. It ages soulfully alongside the cordovan itself. Sometimes, I use it to hook it up to my silver wallet chain—such a flex, I think. Lol~"

"Back in those days, all the old The Flat Head cordovan wallets were hand-stitched by the most skilled craftsmen at Stock Burg Leather Studio (TFH's own leather workshop). To be honest, I didn't realise how important that was 10 years ago. Nowadays, when I look at this wallet and see that not a single stitch has broken, I begin to understand why the old The Flat Head asked their craftsmen to spend an entire day making just one cordovan medium wallet.

It wasn't just for a better look—the hand-stitching process ensures that this wallet becomes your dearly cherished LIFETIME wallet..."
