FILE 028:MOMOTARO JEANS 14.7oz "Copper Label" 0305-C Denim -- 2 Years of Wear

This pair of MOMOTARO JEANS 14.7oz "Copper Label" 0305-C Denim was worn by our Melbourne VIP friend -- Kay, who shares:

"This was my first pair of Japanese denim, purchased from CORLECTION about a decade ago. I had just graduated from university at the time and wore them for over two years, around three to four days a week. I was truly impressed by the quality and the richness of the texture."

"Around that time, my best friend had just bought a pair of MOMOTARO 15.7oz GTB denim from CORLECTION—the Grand Indigo Signature Version. I wanted something different from his, so the staff at CORLECTION Melbourne suggested I take a look at the 0305-C instead. It’s a genuine indigo version in 14.7oz.

Yeah… here we are."

"Since the denim was in a raw state, I did a quick cold soak before wearing them—about 30 minutes. After the first soak, the denim still felt a little stiff, but it was comfortable enough for daily wear, especially after the first week. In brand-new condition, I couldn’t really tell the difference between this Genuine Indigo and my best friend’s Grand Indigo version. However, after about three months of wear, I began to notice a very bright indigo hue emerging from the 0305-C denim—almost as bright as a sunny blue sky."

"After the first month of wear, following the advice from the staff at CORLECTION Melbourne, I gave the jeans a gentle cold machine wash using a professional denim detergent. Because of the relatively tight fit, noticeable cat’s whisker fades had already formed around the top block and thighs. After that first wash, even more sky-blue indigo tones began to surface. That was when I truly started to understand what Genuine Indigo means—the color carries a more vintage character, in my opinion."

"Another reason I hand-picked the 0305-C as my first pair of MOMOTARO denim was the thoughtful construction details. The yoke is lined with Japanese lightweight, natural indigo hand-dyed cotton twill, while the inner pockets are made from grand indigo thread-dyed cotton twill. These details don’t just add to the durability of the jeans; they also age beautifully alongside the denim itself, becoming better with time."

"The leather patch is made from vegetable-tanned, uncoloured cowhide. After a year of wear and washing, it darkened slightly and developed a richer sheen. And by the way, I still love this Peachboy logo design."

“My favourite fade detail is the honeycomb fades behind the knees. The contrast is incredibly strong—something that truly belongs to slim-fit denim. After two years of hard wear and professional denim detergent washes, it developed an irreplicable beauty of its own.”

"Even today, I still find myself staring at this well-aged pair of denim from time to time. I feel lucky that I chose to spend my money on this pair of MOMOTARO jeans—something made to last, not a piece of fast fashion thing."
