This pair of Stevenson Overall Co 12.5oz "Old Glory" Selvage Converted Chinos in Heather Gray was worn by our Melbourne friend -- Charlie. As he recalls:

“I started wearing this pair of "Old Glory" Selvage Converted Chinos (Heather Gray) back in 2015, around the time CORLECTION opened its new branch in Melbourne. By then, I had already been a hardcore CORLECTION fan for a few years—same with SOC. A few of my friends had picked up pairs of "Old Glory" chinos during that period, and I remember wondering what made them so popular. That curiosity led me to buy this pair for myself.”

"My first impression of this pair of selvage chinos was simple: elegance. As Lee described, these are semi-casual chinos that pair effortlessly with a suit blazer for a sharp look—or just as easily with my “dad-style” sneakers on a relaxed weekend. The selvavge fabric is something special. Woven slowly on vintage looms using twisted yarns, and the threads are dyed in varying tones of sumi-black, giving the chinos a rich, layered color. Brand new, the deep tone reminded me of a dark Harris Tweed—just stunning.

Over the first six months, I wore them about twice a week, often styled with my tailored blazer in an ‘Old Ivy’ fashion. I gently machine-washed them monthly. The fading has been subtle but beautiful—like raw denim, they age gracefully, developing personality with time."

"If you're a hardcore fan who started wearing Made-in-Japan garments back in 2010, then you know—the details are everything. I absolutely love how the 'Universal' copper zipper and SOC’s brass name tag have aged over time. It’s Wabi-Sabi, that imperfect beauty that only gets better with wear. This is ‘Ageing To A Soulful Look,’ and I love these solid, honest elements!"

"After the first six months of wear, I slowed down—I started wearing them just once a week on weekends and still washed them monthly. I was too worried about wearing them out, especially after being told, 'Not sure when they'll be restocked.'

I just loved that Smiley back pocket design too much. It captured the spirit of 'Old Glory' for me, right when I was beginning my first serious job.

Years later, when I looked at that same pair of chinos again, memories from 2015 came rushing back.

'Time Flies, Glory Stays'—you know?"
