“I was a CORLECTION customer at the time and had caught the denim bug. I typically wear straight cuts, but wanted to branch out, so I thought I’d be bold and try some indie-sleaze skinny black denim. As a girl, I know it can be tricky to find cuts that work for your figure, especially skinny or tapered fits. Vito heard my concerns and pointed me to this pair of 'Ultimate-Black' denim, explaining the roomier top block was made to accommodate more shape through the hips and thighs while still keeping a slim silhouette.”
"Before wearing, I gave the denim a 30-minute warm soak to reduce the starch and let it shrink to its final dimensions. After the first few wears, it quickly moulded to my figure. The once-coarse fabric softened in high-friction areas, revealing a strong vertical texture with high-contrast flecks from the white yarn core."
"Vito told me that to achieve this 'Ultimate-Black' denim look, the UG team had to work closely with the factory, requesting the buttons and rivets be dyed for over nine months. Even after a full year of wear, the rivets and buttons remain dark, holding onto their black tone. But if you look closely, you’ll notice a copper-brown hue beginning to emerge—subtle, but vivid—like sunlight cutting through the darkness. It's a quiet transformation, reminiscent of that fleeting moment Before Dawn."

"There’s one thing I’d like to talk about. When I first got this 14oz black denim, it felt smooth—yet there was a certain stiffness to its touch. In the beginning, the fades appeared in a dotted, almost scattered pattern. For the first couple of months, it looked as though the fabric was hesitating to let go of its deep black hue. But slowly, those tiny dots began to connect, forming a distinct 'black-and-white' vertical fade.
It reminds me of our life journey—how things start off uncertain, scattered, sometimes rigid. But as time passes, the experiences connect, and a clearer pattern emerges. From chaos to clarity. Isn’t it just like life?"
"I wore them about twice a week, but it was always hard, especially during chores like cleaning or gardening. I gave them a couple of early soaks and hand washes, gradually using hotter water. Around the six-month mark, I did a cold, gentle machine wash that brought out the black-and-white contrast. "
