The legendary denim for women is back!
We know so many of our lady customers are on the lookout for some more elegant fitting jeans with unique textures that still maintain true made-in-Japan quality. This 5th evolution from PBJ of their women's line is the best one yet!
Using its expertise in developing fabrics, PBJ has yet again improved its specialty stretch jeans. The 3% poly threads are substantial and have enough stretch for body-fitting comfort but will not become over-extended and wear out to a puckered look like many other stretch denim.
This 5th evolution features an improved fit for women with a higher rise and wider hips. Unlike 'boyfriend' fitting denim this is a much more modern, women's stretch jeans fitting.
They come in three dyes:
Cobalt Blue, where the warp has been dyed with grand indigo and the weft is cobalt blue sulphur-dyed.
Grand Indigo, where the warp has been dyed with grand indigo and the weft is natural fibre colours.
Pure Black, with both the warp and weft black sulphur dyed for a stylish modern look! With time it will reveal a high-contrast 'BLACK & WHITE' faded look!

Pure Blue Japan 14oz GRE-019 'Greencast' Denim
Crashing back to the 1970’s with the groovy Greencast 14oz denim from PBJ!
Experts in both old and new indigo dying techniques, PBJ have drawn from the past to make a truly beautiful new Green-tinted future. The texture of the jeans, made, of course, on the classic PBJ vintage-machine looms is fairly slubby, combined with a neppy finish.
The warp of this pair has a subtle colour shift across the dye, creating a ‘blue-in-green’ look, giving it a truly unique sheen! With ongoing use the vertical texture will become stronger across the jeans, which will make the greenest pop even more. This means, over time, the pronounced green hue contrast will reveal itself as an amazing aurora light show!
Made to last, with vintage machine chain stitch and roped belt loop construction, these are built to get better with time. The riveted back pockets will also keep things secure for many years to come! The high-density veg-tanned sheepskin patch will gradually soften with a rich patina like Japanese whiskey. Silver coat iron buttons and copper rivets will oxidise and shine up with wear & tear!
Coming in at 14oz, these are perfect for lazing around in the sun, and really letting that green gleam shine through!

PURE BLUE JAPAN 14.5OZ "HIPPIE BLUE" DENIM
Return of the OG 1970s denim colourway!
At first glance, you can quickly tell these are some seriously unique looking denim. The inspiration comes from the 1970s when the most popular Levis began to be dyed 'BLUE' and was a classic mainstream look.
This denim is made in a very special manner. The warp is rope-dyed with genuine indigo which is rich in-depth and has a pale sky blue look in brand new condition. In addition to this genuine indigo dye, the warp is then over-dyed with silver grey sulphur. As for the weft, the cotton threads have been left in their natural, undyed state. The composition of the warp and wefts makes up for a tasteful 1970s vintage blue look. With time you'll see some strong contrast and slubby texture reveal itself.
The entire pair has been constructed using vintage machines and extra heavy cotton threads for better durability. The iron riveted buttons and copper rivets are practical for daily use and will keep the denim's shape over time. The leather patch on the rear is made of high density, vegetable-tanned sheepskin. With time the colour will develop a dark brown hue with some amazing patina.
We bet most of you (like us) have never tried this kind of unique 1970s Genunine Indigo blue colourway, we bet it will be an amazing journey! Enjoy with time!

Pure Blue Japan 17.5oz Natural Indigo AI-013 Denim (Slim Tapered fit)
Many of you might have heard about "Natural Indigo Hand-Dyed" Japanese denim (a.k.a Aizome), today, we would love to introduce you to this highest-end natural indigo hand-dyed denim from PBJ for you to enjoy!
Compared with their standard indigo-dyed denim, this AI hand-dyed denim uses ultra-thick cotton thread to finish. Woven from old fashion shuttle looms at an even slower pace than usual. This process ensures the denim will hold its shape better and last longer than their other standard denim. Secondly, the texture of the denim will look even bolder and more uneven, with a vertical pattern resembling an “Indigo Waterfall"!
The natural indigo hand-dyeing process, is based on an over a thousand-year-old tradition of skilful craftsmanship, which only a handful of artisans in Japan can finish perfectly, or we should say ---- MAGICALLY! To hand-dye these ultra-thick cotton threads in natural indigo, artisans have to choose the weather which is not too hot nor too cold, the humidity should be around 80%, and the artisans have to dye the cotton threads in natural indigo liquor very carefully to make sure the natural indigo colour is even and beautiful. Natural indigo does not contain the same chemicals found in standard indigo dyes that enable it to quickly and efficiently penetrate the cotton fibre. As such, the dyeing process has to be repeated around 50 times to make sure the natural indigo denim looks dark and ages with many hues of indigo with time!
Construction-wise, you can see the stitching is made of ultra-thick cotton threads to enhance its construction. In addition, PBJ asks their craftsman to hand-stitch select stress points and pockets areas! The colours of cotton threads that are used for stitching are also naturally hand-dyed, with wear and wash, they will age soulfully along with the natural indigo-dyed denim!
To be honest, this is not the denim made for everyone... If you consider yourselves as some hardcore DENIM HEAD and looking for some Highest-end Japanese denim, these will open up your eyes!
