In old times, natural indigo was used by the Japanese for workwear and hand made signage.
Natural indigo dye, one of the most difficult dyes to use consistently! The craftsman at PBJ dye threads of indigo by hand then naturally dry them; they repeat this process 10 times!
The result, an amazing, pure natural indigo dyed tee that will age amazingly. With time, the indigo will very slowly age to a super bright shade with some amazing character.
Compared to their standard indigo dye, this method is much more difficult to achieve and makes up for a brighter, slower, soulful fade.

Made by some of Japan’s best sashiko fabric artisans, this 13oz fabric has a super unevener feel thanks to the weight. The individual uneven textures are also ‘super sized’ to make up for a big dotted look!
With time, you’ll see some NEXT LEVEL sashiko ageing! The raised surface will become lighter and lighter, contrasting nicely against the deep indigo lower surface. The uneven texture will become enhanced and start to get a life of its own.
