Traditional Japanese dyeing techniques!

This season, Momotaro has brought something truly special, inspired by traditional Japanese walnut “onigurumi” dyeing techniques! This is a unique piece to add to your quality selvedge denim collection! 

This pair of denim is constructed with 100% long-fibre Zimbabwe cotton red selvage I.D denim, which has been slowly woven using vintage machines. This results in hefty fabric with a smooth yet subtly irregular texture. The rich chocolate brown colourway is achieved through traditional “Onigurumi” dyeing techniques using the shells and husks of native Japanese walnuts. Thanks to the garment dyeing process, this pair is immediately soft and comfortable, and with wear and washing, it will age to a natural, soulful look with more and more walnut tones appearing!

This pair of denim features chain stitch construction and custom engraved iron buttons and rivets for enhanced durability! The natural cowhide leather patch features Momotaro’s signature logo and will age with a darker, shinier patina with time!
