Freewheelers "M-1951" Military Back Satin Field Jacket

For those in the know, Freewheelers produces some of the best repro military garments on the market! This field jacket is inspired by a classic M-1951 design, originally issued by the US military during the Korean and subsequently becoming an iconic fashion staple worn by artists, mods and punks in the decades since! Freewheelers have updated the original design with luxury heavyweight Japanese military back satin and a new improved fitting!

The body of this jacket is constructed with Japanese heavyweight military cotton back satin fabric. Specially developed by Freewheelers, this material has a substantial weight with a satin-like finish on the surface and a slightly irregular texture thanks to the slow weaving process on vintage machines! The colourway has been yarn-dyed, and with time, you can expect this jacket to age to a contrasted look like the vintage pieces from the past!

Construction-wise, Freewheelers have modified the original fitting slightly, with gently tapering shoulders and a slightly slimmer fit for a modern fashionable look! The snap button chest pockets feature a gusseted construction for a sleeker look. Along with the waist pockets, these provide plenty of storage space for your daily gear! For added durability, the interior of the jacket is lined with Japanese lightweight cotton ripstop fabric which provides some additional insulation for colder days! Speaking of details, this jacket features large brown urea buttons on the sleeve hems and epaulettes. The classic drawstrings feature extra-thick cowhide adjusters so you can always get the perfect fit!
