Freewheelers Late 1930s “Civilian Deck Jacket” (Dark Navy)

“Winter is Coming, Guard Your Fortress!”

Drawing inspiration from late-1930s U.S. civilian deck jacket designs, Freewheelers have elevated these original designs with superior materials and more robust construction, providing us with the “ultimate” version of this shorter-length winter deck jacket

The shell is constructed from Freewheelers’s specially developed heavyweight, high-density duck canvas, which is slowly woven on vintage machines to achieve a smooth hand feel with a subtle, irregular texture. This fabric is sulphur yarn-dyed, ensuring that with time it will develop an authentic, high-contrast patina resembling those of original military-issue deck jackets. Freewheelers have gone above and beyond for the lining, utilising a blend of wool and alpaca for a highly insulated interior which remains soft as cashmere and avoids the typical irritation associated with 100% wool.

In terms of construction, this jacket features wool ribbing at the collar and cuffs as well as an adjustable hidden drawstring at the hem for added warmth in colder weather. Hidden underarm ventilation eyelets also enhance breathability in milder conditions.

For those seeking an “Ultimate” shorter-length deck jacket, this is an ideal choice!
