FREEWHEELERS 14OZ S516XX "EARLY 1946" TYPE 1 DENIM JACKET
Post-war type-2 taken to the top tier standard!
For those who are into denim history, we know that during WWII, denim production was unique. Compromises were made due to material shortages but this yielded iconic designs that still inspired today's fashion. This jacket is inspired by the era just after WWII when resources were still tight, workers needed to gear up for the coming cold seasons.
The outer denim shell is FW's specially developed 14oz WWII style denim. This 14oz denim is made of long-fibred full-grain cotton with an uneven thickness woven with low tension, making up an amazing irregular look. Its subtle vintage hue grand indigo dye will gradually fade to a brighter tone with some big contrast. The vertical texture will become strongly enhanced and bring back the vision of Levis during WW2 but with a more irregular atmosphere.
The inner lining is a beautiful brushed heavyweight, thread dyed flannel fabric. With each wear, you'll be greeted with an incredibly soft feeling with a cosy, warm feeling.
When it comes to the overall experience, this 14oz denim with heavyweight flannel lining feels like the most high-standard of a type 1 denim jacket. Perhaps the softest '25oz' jacket when we add it all up?!
With doughnut style iron buttons, they make for a classic look and will slowly oxidise to a vintage look. The construction of the 14oz and heavyweight flannel lining requires extra heavy cotton threads with vintage chain stitching machines. Take a look at how skillfully FW put together the details! The cinch back is tastefully attached with rivets and features a minimal buckle, respective of the timeframe of '46!
If you have been waiting for a winter denim jacket keen on the top tier, we guarantee you will be satisfied!
